Nick Weinstock and Danielle Larese have been operating BOTL Farm in Ashford’s Westford Village. since 2016. Though initially looking for farm land close to New Haven they stumbled upon a farm in Ashford that fit their needs. They are a pasture-based, sustainability-focused livestock farm situated on 41 acres of transitional silvopasture. This means that the grazing animals are integrated with the trees on the farm instead of grazing on open pastures.
All of their animals are Animal Welfare Approved, and their sheep and goats are Certified Grass Fed by A Greener World. Focusing on heritage breed (Mangalitsa and Berkshire pigs and Icelandic Sheep) animals is a natural choice for the farm and they choose breeds that can thrive in our unpredictable New England climate.
The smallest member of this farm family is Pup the Farm Dog! Pup is a rescue who joined the family in 2017. when she is not getting into fights with the bees she is keeping the barn free from mice and keeping all the animals in line.
